The Opportunity:

This position is a collaborative role providing support for analysis and research into our underwriting wordings, rules, and guidelines. The Portfolio Analyst will be responsible for the production, review, and modification of product wordings. In addition, the Analyst will provide support to Underwriting Operations. The analyst will also be responsible for supporting the completion of industry and regulatory surveys.

How you will create an impact:

  • Support development of new products/enhanced products
  • Support development of manuscript forms
  • Maintenance of underwriting rate, rule, product manuals
  • Track manuscript forms, provide quarterly reports of manuscript forms and identify opportunities for new products
  • Participate in and support the annual pricing/portfolio reviews of existing products
  • Support monitoring of the portfolio mix of business results
  • Support development of forms (word/excel/fillable) to assist process flow for underwriting
  • Support development and delivery of training materials – supporting the train the trainer concept
  • Support facultative reinsurance activities in GWPC
  • Support business requirement design for new/enhanced products, underwriting rules, and reinsurance rules
  • Interpret edit rule documentation
  • Conduct user training
  • Monitor the marketplace, liaising with industry contacts, reading industry publications and attending a variety of related association meetings and promotional events as requested.

 

What you will bring:

  • 2-3 years’ experience in a related field
  • Completion of CIP/FCIP designation is considered an asset
  • Knowledge of reinsurance is considered an asset
  • Must be able to communicate ideas, make recommendations and maintain excellent interpersonal relationships with all internal and external partners
  • Knowledge of Power BI and Guidewire Platforms is an asset
  • Excellent communication skills are required: verbal, non-verbal and written, a proven ability to make recommendations and maintain excellent interpersonal relationships with internal and external contacts
  • Advanced time management, organizational, analytical and evaluative skills
  • Ability to be creative and innovative in the thinking process.
