The Opportunity
The Department of Decision Sciences in the School of Business invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track appointment in Insurance and Risk Management at the rank of Assistant Professor, commencing July 1, 2024, subject to final budgetary approval.
Our department is one of the few across Canada with an academic program in Insurance and Risk Management. You will oversee this program, teach our existing insurance and risk management and decision science courses, and help develop additional courses in these areas. You will build and foster relationships with stakeholders in the insurance industry, especially in Alberta. You will be expected to assist students in accessing co-ops, internships, and other professional opportunities within the insurance industry.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in business or a closely related field, along with a relevant industry designation such as the Certified Insurance Professional (CIP), the Canadian Risk Management (CRM), or the Fellow Chartered Insurance Professional (FCIP).
- Candidates with a Master’s (or higher) qualification in areas related to, but not limited to, management, business administration, actuarial science, data science, or management science are encouraged to apply.
- Candidates with professional/industry experience in insurance and risk management, especially in the Canadian context, will be highly desirable.
