Senior Underwriter (Commercial/Farm)

We’re looking for a Senior Underwriter (Commercial/Farm) who is innovative & customer focussed.

• Enjoy team leadership.
• Have the knowledge to review, evaluate, rate, and process insurance requests for Commercial Auto, Commercial Property or Farm.
• Possess the ability to collaborate with brokers, claims and other departments to generate a flow of profitable business and aiding in resolving any service matters.
• Know how to delegate and monitor task along with ability to manage commitments effectively in a busy environment.
• Want to leverage your leadership skills for good – like actively supporting SGI’s culture, expanding your own learning and supporting your colleagues as they do the same.

The skills for this position are gained through the completion of a two-year diploma from an accredited post-secondary education institution in a relevant field of study, such as Business, or defined equivalency and 5 – 7 years’ of experience in underwriting, with at least 3 of those in the applicable commercial line.
