About the Opportunity

The primary responsibility of the Claims Coordinator (Program Admin Officer B)  is the coordination of NS Health’s insurance program and claims management (property, crime, equipment breakdown and travel). The role is also responsible for non-insurable claims coordination and fleet management for insurance purposes.  

 

  • Manage the annual insurance renewal process, including correspondence with broker, for NS Health’s various insurance policies
  • Provide consultation to internal stakeholders regarding insurance issues, questions and insurance policy coverage
  • Review and suggest modifications to NS Health legal agreements to ensure that insurance coverage and risk are appropriate considering the nature of each agreement
  • Monitor and assess NS Health’s exposures as they relate to the insurance portfolio
  • Work with internal stakeholders, insurance brokers and other internal groups for coordination of claims
  • Reporting on insurance claims and trends, including key performance indicators
  • Coordinating the accounting and reporting for claim payments
  • Investigate and establish financial parameters for claims settlement in non-insured claims in accordance with NS Health policies and procedures
  • Maintain listing of all NS Health owned and leased vehicles, as well as insured drivers

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

 

  • Undergraduate degree required
  • Completion of Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation required
  • Excellent collaboration, verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and conceptual thinking skills
  • Highly knowledgeable of SAP functionality for Finance processes
  • Experience in engaging, mentoring and empowering teams and stakeholders in a collaborative, participate manner to respond to the mission, vision, goals and objectives of the organization
  • Ability to prioritize workload, meet deadlines and work effectively under pressure with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Preference will be given to candidates who have previous insurance broker or insurance adjuster experience. 
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours

Permanent, Full-time position, 75 hrs bi-weekly

Compensation and Incentives

$28.35 - $33.08 Hourly
