$77,700.20 - $110,000.05 annually (The expected starting salary for this position will be up to $95,000.00 annually)

The Roles

Senior Risk Management Consultant (Health)

The Senior Risk Management Consultant utilizes their skills as an insurance professional and specialist to proactively influence the development of risk management best practice. This position provides advice to ministry, government corporation and broader public sector (healthcare, K-12 schools, post-secondary education) clients, helping clients to take advantage of opportunities while mitigating risk and assuming accountability for losses. The Senior Risk Management Consultant reviews and recommends for approval indemnities and related risk allocation language in non-standard contracts, develops and implements risk management and risk financing strategies (including self-insurance programs) based on detailed analysis of the underlying risks, supports clients in major construction projects and develops and delivers risk management training.

Senior Risk Management Consultant (Finance)

The Senior Risk Management Consultant provides advice, analysis and guidance on the province’s financial securities framework and best practices, including supporting the Ministry of Finance’s Provincial Treasury Division. The Senior Risk Management Consultant also utilizes their knowledge and expertise to proactively influence the development of risk management best practice. This position provides risk management advice to ministry, government corporation, and broader public sector clients.

Qualifications for this role include:

  • Related insurance or risk management designation* (see below for list) plus a minimum of 3 years related** insurance or risk management experience. An equivalent combination of education and related** experience may be considered.

*Related designations include:

  • Canadian Risk Management, Chartered Insurance Professional, Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker, Chartered Financial Analyst, Financial Risk Management, Professional Risk Manager, and Canadian Securities Course

**Related experience includes supporting clients and providing advice in the following areas:

  • Construction and commercial lines of insurance, developing and implementing risk financing and/or risk management programs, and conducting complex financial and/or risk analysis to resolve client issues
