Senior Underwriter (Underwriter 3)

We’re looking for experienced Personal Lines Underwriters!

SGI CANADA currently has Senior Underwriter (Underwriter 3) opportunities available in our Personal Lines division! In this multi-line role, you will determine risk acceptability for critical accounts, corporate accounts and key broker partners for property and auto insurance products. You will also establish and maintain relationships with brokers to develop lasting and profitable relationships.  We are looking for candidates who are energetic, champions of change, customer-focused and look for ways to improve the customer and employee experience. For our Personal Lines Senior Underwriter (Underwriter 3) roles, here are some things we’ll look for:

  • Completion of the Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) or Associateship (AIIC) designation from the Insurance Institute of Canada (10 courses).
  • Considerable Personal Lines underwriting experience (Property and/or Auto) in the Alberta market.
  • Experience mentoring, coaching or providing technical training to junior staff.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to convince, influence and negotiate with others.
  • Solid foundation of existing and emerging industry and regional trends and market conditions.
  • Experience and proficiency in preparing and conducting formal presentations.
  • Valid driver’s licence.
