Manager, Commercial Property Underwriting

SGI CANADA is currently searching for a Manager, AB & BC Underwriting (Commercial Property) to spearhead our Calgary team.

 

In this role, you will be responsible for managing the underwriting (UW) function for commercial property for SGI CANADA’s Alberta Regional Operations.  Together with the UW team, you will establish and maintain relationships with brokers and manage growth and profitability with an emphasis on excellent service standards.

 

You will be accountable for building, coaching and mentoring a team of underwriters that understands and delivers one view of commercial property underwriting that combines product, technology and services for our broker partners while attracting quality business to SGI CANADA.

 

You will lead by example by making good decisions on time, being comfortable with data and portfolio management concepts and effectively explaining our underwriting and workflow approach to brokers. 

 

Requirements

 

Candidates must bring the education and experience to succeed in this unique opportunity — after all, we’re counting on you.  We are looking for candidates who have a four-year degree in a field such as Business, Math or Social Sciences. Candidates should have at least four years of underwriting experience and four years of leadership experience.  Alternative combinations of relevant education and experience may also be considered.
