Job Overview

The Manager of Underwriting provides direction, leadership and guidance to Germania Mutual's underwriting team. They will ensure staff compliance with all applicable regulations and standards through a continued auditing process.  As well, this role will be expected to develop and maintain strong partner relationships. The Manager of Underwriting will be collaborating with the management team to develop strategic plans for the organization. This role will also be responsible for identifying risks, while maintaining profitability. 

Position Requirements

  • CIP/FCIP designation.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in the insurance industry.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a leadership or management role.
  • Expert knowledge of risk management practices and methodologies.
  • Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Property and Casualty insurance and relevant regulations
  • Proficient with database applications and administration systems.
