Corporate Underwriting Specialist

SGI is currently searching for two Corporate Underwriting Specialists (1 Personal Auto, 1 Personal Property).  These positions could be located in Edmonton, Regina or Toronto.

In these roles, you will provide strategy support through research, analysis and recommendations to deliver improvement initiatives (i.e. audit and quality control (QC) frameworks) that have clear, positive and direct impact on portfolio and segment performance in alignment with the Personal Underwriting strategy.  At SGI we encourage you to challenge the status quo, practices and procedures and identify areas of improvement, including automation.

SGI believes that effective collaboration happens by thinking beyond the role and division, being clear on decisions and accountabilities, building relationships while being open minded and respectful and driving action forward to put the best interests of SGI first. The successful individual for this role will be a team player that buys into this mindset and embodies SGI’s vision, missions and values

Candidates must bring the education and experience to succeed in this unique opportunity — after all, we’re counting on you.  We are looking for candidates who have a four-year degree in Business, Math, Science or a relevant field of study. Candidates should have at least 6 years of experience in Personal Auto or Property Underwriting. Alternative combinations of relevant education and experience may also be considered.
