Portage Mutual Insurance is seeking a new Regional Manager, Branch Operations to oversee the business in Alberta and British Columbia. Based out of Edmonton and reporting to the Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, this individual is responsible for operations of the branch, including attraction, maintenance, and servicing of policy holders and brokers. They will manage the inner workings of the office, including managing staff and rate changes and underwriting initiatives in the branch, and will serve as a connection between the marketing claims and underwriting departments.

As the ideal candidate, you will have a degree or diploma in business administration or another relevant post-secondary field and possess a FCIP or CIP designation. You will have a strong understanding of the insurance industry, broad experience within insurance, and are comfortable making decisions relating to claims and underwriting. You have developed a solid business acumen, and are experienced developing and implementing business plans. You have proven leadership skills, with a “hands-on” approach to empower employees to be successful. You are an excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills, capable of building and maintaining relationships with both staff and brokers. Lastly, as the successful candidate you will have excellent organizational skills, and the proven ability to handle multiple tasks in a rapidly changing environment.
