TL Claims Representative - FTT (12 months)

Receives new insurance claims filed for or against TransLink and its subsidiaries, including CMBC, SkyTrain, West Coast Express, Roads and Bridges, West Vancouver Transit, Community Shuttle contractors, and HandyDART. Initiates, coordinates, researches, and investigates CMBC claim tracers to identify the vehicle involved in a particular incident. Liaises with others to obtain information and responds to requests for information on claims related matters. Coordinates and responds to a variety of enquires and requests for information. Gathers information to initiate repair invoices required from all subsidiaries and contractors that have sustained property damage. Prepares repair invoices for billing to responsible parties and follows up on recoveries with insurance adjusters and individuals.

QUALIFICATIONS

Requires Grade 12 graduation including courses in office procedures, word processing, database, and spreadsheet software. Requires eighteen (18) months previous telephone insurance claims handling experience where knowledge has been gained in claims procedures and asking probative questions when taking initial claim statements that are vital in the defence and mitigation of losses. Previous experience will include analysing and working with a claims information system. A further period of up to one (1) year in the position is required to become familiar with all aspects of the transit system, types of equipment and the complexity of the insurance system, including types of coverage for various types of risk under TransLink, and claims handling for risks associated with various subsidiaries, including SkyTrain, West Coast Express, Roads and Bridges, West Vancouver Transit, Community Shuttle contractors, and HandyDART.

Location: New Westminster, BC

Work Schedule: 37.5 hours per week

This is a MoveUP position.
