Position Overview 
We are looking for a highly motivated individual to assume an adjuster role handling all lines of subrogation claims for RSA & Unifund. The successful candidates will be required to ensure 
prompt recoveries of monies owing to RSA Canada and Unifund Assurance as part of the National Subrogation Team. You will be required to work within the various provincial legislation 
applicable to subrogation and to coordinate work flow with our external vendors on a day to day basis.

What you will achieve in this role 
• Deliver and exceed on all key performance indicators as it relates to the total amount of recovery dollars, the percentage of total outstanding recoveries, file closures, claims leakage 
control and expense management. 
• Develop and execute on equitable recovery strategies on all appropriate files. 
• Develop and execute on Subrogation investigation strategies in collaboration with other claims units. 
• Obtain prompt and reasonable settlement recoveries directly with policy holders and third parties or through external resources. 
• Work with and direct external vendors (legal, Independent Adjusters, Engineers) to ensure prompt and considerable recoveries while controlling expenses. 
• Work with all claim departments, in both Personal and Commercial Lines (Automobile, Property, Marine, Equipment Breakdown/Boiler and Machinery etc) nationally within all ROINS 
companies. 
• Mentor junior adjusters to enhance knowledge and support our development strategy of promoting from within. 
• Monitor and identify training and industry trends which may affect recovery strategies and work with the National Subrogation Manager and Subrogation Team Leaders in appropriate 
planning. 
• Deliver on astounding customer service to brokers, customers and colleagues. 
• Contribute to the team success by consistently leveraging RSA best practices. 
• Achieve greatness through your high productivity. 

What you bring to this role 
• A strong knowledge of Property, Automobile and Subrogation claims handling acquired through 3-5+years of claims handling experience. 
• Experience in handling litigation files both Small Claims Court and Superior Court Actions an asset. 
• Superior negotiation skills a must 
• Excellent problem solving skills 
• Strong verbal and written communication skills 
• Excellent organizational and planning skills 
• Experience in working on Guidewire an asset 
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook 
• Post-Secondary education in a related discipline or equivalent experience 
• CIP or FCIP designation completed or in progress as licensing is required in some provinces.
