Multi-Line Underwriter

Our Underwriting Department is growing, don’t miss this opportunity to join our team.  This is a full time position in our Underwriting Department. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong subject matter expertise in personal lines underwriting, auto and property, including farm underwriting and risk management; commercial experience would be an asset.  Working in a team environment, the applicant will accept business submissions, change requests and policy renewals according to pre-determined criteria; in a timely manner.

The successful applicant will be a strong communicator who can work effectively with our experienced team of Underwriters and work collaboratively with our growing sales force.  They should have sound underwriting knowledge in all fields previously listed above, strong computer/document management skills, and be a proven relationship builder. While you will work independently on your daily tasks, you will still be a key resource for your coworkers within the Underwriting Department.

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter and an experienced insurance professional with a minimum of 5 years of personal lines underwriting, auto and property underwriting including farm experience, commercial lines is an asset and/or appropriate education in a business related discipline.  Primary duties include reviewing risks for acceptability, underwriting and processing new business, endorsements and renewals within established authority levels.

Preference will be given to those applicants that have experience or knowledge of multiple lines of insurance business.  Once in the role, the opportunity exists for cross training, therefore candidates must have a desire to learn new skills and continue to grow as our company grows.
