Does building a regional book of business with the support of a national insurance company sound exciting to you? How about meeting construction professionals and participating in industry-wide surety and construction functions? Can you work independently and harness your enthusiasm to build relationships and turn your customers into advocates? Are you someone who is able to analyze financial statements and use them to understand the “big picture”?
Yes?! You should consider joining our team at SGI CANADA as a Surety Field Underwriter in Alberta. As a field underwriter, you will use your financial analysis, research and analytical skills to evaluate risk for the surety team. A main priority will be business development and new account generation through relationship building with brokers and contractors in the construction industry. You can expect a lot of travel to meet with brokers, contractors, and to participate in industry functions on a regular basis.
Candidates must bring the education and experience to succeed in this unique opportunity — after all, we’re counting on you. We are looking for candidates who have Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Commerce with a major in accounting or finance and an Associateship in Canadian Surety Bonding (ACSB) designation.
