Risk Analyst

<p>Reporting to the Director, Risk and Insurance Services, the Risk Analyst is responsible for the efficient and economical procurement of the University risk financing program. In addition, the Risk Analyst collects and analyzes required metrics for insurance applications and the auditing of physical assets to ensure accurate valuation for insurance purposes. The incumbent is the key resource person on matters pertaining to the University insurance program and will also manage the University Certificate of Insurance software,.The Risk Analyst will support the Director, Risk and Insurance Services in the implementation of the University&#39;s Enterprise Risk Management program, which identifies the strategic risks to the University and requires regular reporting to Senior Management and the Board of Governors. In addition, the position maintains the University&#39;s risk management manual, and assists in development of new modules when risks are identified. The incumbent identifies new and emerging operational risks for all University activities including research contract/grants, student travel, student events, athletics, construction contracts, University residences etc., and works with individuals and department to develop and implement innovative risk mitigation strategies; The position assists in the coordination and investigation of insurable claims and settles claims under the insurance deductibles as well as manages insurance related recoveries. The role also assists in providing training to the community on risk management and insurance related topics, while providing the highest level of service excellence for both internal and external customers. The Risk Analyst will develop training materials and participate in the presentation of workshops on all aspects of the Risk Management Program.</p> <p>THE ROLE REQUIREMENTS;</p> <p>The completion of a three-year University degree in a related field; The completion of a CIP and/or CRM designation (or in progress); Five years of broad insurance experience which includes:; Claims investigation and settlement Policy interpretation; Records Management; At least two years expience in risk assessment and risk mitigation at an operational level is required. Experience in event risk management, contract review and developing and presenting training materials would be an asset.
