The Nova Scotia School Insurance Program Association is a not-for-profit organization that manages all aspects of property and casualty-related insurance for the Regional Centres for Education of Nova Scotia, Conseil Scolaire Acadien Provincial, and the Nova Scotia Community College.

On behalf of the Board of Directors, we are seeking a highly-respected individual to guide the organization as its new CEO.

What qualities are needed as Chief Executive Officer?

As the senior executive leader, you will create momentum ensuring all key strategic objectives, agreements, and policies are delivered. Through an open and transparent relationship with the Board, you will provide frequent and timely reports on strategic, operational, and policy matters impacting the organization.

As the ideal candidate, you have appropriate academic or professional credentials along with proven experience in commercial insurance, claims management, or risk management. You are a collaborative leader with an notable track record developing relationships among many partners such as governments, employees, insurance companies, and clients.

You have business intellect, presence, vision, social skills, and a strategic mindset—all of which will be deployed to benefit the organization and their clients. Your range of operational skills includes human resources, financial management, risk management, administration, client service,  and advocacy.

Your natural investigative skills will be called upon frequently to identify and understand emerging insurance trends, and you will act as an ambassador on the importance of risk management. You should also have experience working with a Board of Directors and an understanding of governance.

A CIP or CRM designation is an asset.
