Supervisor, National Catastrophe Response Team

The Supervisor, National CAT Team, is responsible for leading the development, training and day to day operations of the National CAT Response Team to ensure optimal response to catastrophe (CAT) events and to maintain excellent customer service expectations.  

**We are looking to fill 2 positions and are open to candidates in Calgary, Edmonton, Toronto and Montreal.**

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Organize the response to CAT events
  • Build and maintain relationships with the National CAT Team and branch operations
  • Support CAT team by providing technical and operational assistance 
  • Ensure adjuster productivity and quality
  • Conduct compliance reviews to ensure adherence to claim department processes and procedures
  • Assist with selection/recruitment of new candidates to work on National CAT Team 
  • Develop and maintain a training program for the CAT Team including ensuring Provincial Workplace Health and Safety requirements have been met
  • Coordinate field and office work assignments for team members
  • Review and approve reserves and payments in excess of CAT Team Members level of authority 
  • Collect and assess information on CAT Post Assessment Forms, and apply lessons learned for continual improvement of the CAT team
  • Remain current with property repair procedures and materials, industry trends and developments
  • Ability to supervise a remote team
  • Travel as required to CAT events and team locations
  • Perform other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7+ years’ experience in Property claims, with CAT adjuster experience or leading a CAT team 
  • Diploma/Degree in Business Administration or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • CIP designation or working towards designation is preferred
  • Excellent knowledge and experience using  XactAnalysis and Xactimate
  • Strong knowledge of Word and Excel 
  • Sound knowledge of Provincial Workplace Health and Safety regulations with regard to CAT adjusters
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to identify relationships, problems and issues
  • Strong organization skills with the ability to prioritize and reprioritize appropriately
  • Strong teamwork skills with the ability to facilitate collaboration
  • Knowledge of ClaimCenter a definite asset
  • Valid Driver’s license, with satisfactory driving record
  • Ability to travel within Canada and the United States
