Assistant Professor, Insurance and Risk Management

The Department of Decision Sciences in the School of Business at MacEwan University invites applications for a full-time tenure-track probationary appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor in Insurance and Risk Management, commencing on 1 July 2019. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. All positions are subject to budgetary approval. Candidates are expected to possess demonstrated research ability while achieving teaching excellence in areas encompassing insurance and risk management, underwriting and claims, finance, and management. The Decision Sciences Department has 15 full-time faculty members, offering a Bachelor of Commerce major in Supply Chain Management and Business Management major in Insurance and Risk Management.

Preferred candidates will have:

  • a doctorate in actuarial sciences, statistics, management, or a related field;
  • evidence of outstanding teaching skills, and a demonstrated commitment to undergraduate teaching;
  • professional and teaching experience in insurance and risk management
  • a research plan;
  • demonstrated evidence of the ability to actively develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders in the insurance industry.
