<p>&lt;p&gt;Reporting to the Director, Risk and Insurance Services, the Risk Analyst is responsible for the efficient and economical procurement of the University&amp;rsquo;s risk financing program. In addition, the Risk Analyst collects and analyzes required metrics for insurance applications and the auditing of physical assets to ensure accurate valuation for insurance purposes. The incumbent is the key resource person on matters pertaining to the University&amp;rsquo;s insurance program and will also manage the University Certificate of Insurance software.&lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt; The Risk Analyst will support the Director, Risk and Insurance Services in the implementation of the University&amp;rsquo;s Enterprise Risk Management program, which identifies the strategic risks to the University and requires regular reporting to Senior Management and the Board of Governors. In addition, the position maintains the University&amp;rsquo;s risk management manual, and assists in development of new modules when risks are identified.&lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt; The incumbent identifies new and emerging operational risks for all University activities including research contract/grants, student travel, student events, athletics, construction contracts, University residences etc., and works with individuals and department to develop and implement innovative risk mitigation strategies&lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt; The position assists in the coordination and investigation of insurable claims and settles claims under the insurance deductibles as well as manages insurance related recoveries. The role also assists in providing training to the community on risk management and insurance related topics, while providing the highest level of service excellence for both internal and external customers.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;THE ROLE REQUIREMENTS&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&amp;bull;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; The completion of a three-year University degree in a related field&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&amp;bull;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; The completion of a CIP and/or CRM designation (or in progress)&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&amp;bull;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; Five years of broad insurance experience which includes:&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;o&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; Insurance procurement&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;o&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; Claims investigation and settlement&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;o&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; Policy interpretation&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;o&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; Operations of a Board&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;o&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; Records management&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&amp;bull;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; At least two years&amp;rsquo; experience in risk assessment and risk mitigation at an operational level is required&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&amp;bull;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; A strong working knowledge of legal concepts, practices and procedures with experience in reviewing commercial and other legal agreements;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&amp;bull;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; Conflict resolution skills, sound judgment, interpersonal skills, diplomacy, discretion, maturity and integrity;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&amp;bull;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; Superior communication skills, both written and oral, ensuring the efficient administration of the office;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&amp;bull;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; Knowledge of current office software applications such as Microsoft Office suite is required; Familiarity with University software programs, such as BANNER and FAST would be a definite asset;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&amp;bull;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; Familiarity with governance structures, policies and operations of a Board of Directors or Board of Governors is a strong and definite asset as well as an understanding of the postsecondary education environment in Canada and particularly Ontario.&lt;br /&gt;
