Vice President - Corporate Controller

Vice President, Corporate Controller

While the emphasis of this role is finance, it includes responsibilities for managing a breadth of staff functions and requires an individual who is both strategic and tactical. Can you inspire others and lead an organization through change?

Our client, Saskatchewan Government Insurance (SGI), is seeking an experienced leader with the ambition to take on an exciting opportunity as the Vice President, Corporate Controller. This is a unique opportunity for someone with the right attributes to play a key role leading SGI into their future filled with growth, transformation and change, with leadership of a high-performance finance and administration function.

This energetic and determined individual will lead the Finance Division’s transformation into the future. Reporting to the Executive VP and Chief Financial Officer, this key leader will be responsible for ensuring timely and relevant monitoring/reporting of the overall financial performance. This role is an excellent opportunity to join a longstanding and stable organization where you can add direct value to the business through assistance in guiding the company’s financial decisions through solid analytical accounting and financial reporting — we need someone who’s ready and willing to help shape that future and lead not only their team, but the entire company to that new reality.

If you’re a strategic and engaging senior leader with an outstanding financial knowledge, you’ve got our attention. If you add the know how to create an environment that allows employees to give their best during a dynamic and evolving work environment, we need to talk. If you’re all about collaboration and building partnerships, as well as have the technical skills with Auto Fund Finance, Financial Reporting & Budgeting, and Revenue & Collections you’re pretty much a shoe in.

You’ll need a relevant post-secondary degree complemented by 10 or more years of senior management experience in delivering financial services. Of course, knowledge of the insurance industry and broker distribution would really help you hit the ground running — but isn’t required.
