We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President of Operations to join our Executive Team.
The Vice President of Operations will be accountable for the leadership and execution of all Trillium’s insurance business operations and will report directly to the CEO. This role is critical in driving operational excellence, ensuring member satisfaction, and achieving our strategic business objectives. The successful candidate will lead the work of a multidisciplinary team responsible for Claims, Risk Management, Underwriting, and Business Development.
What Will You Be Doing?
•Lead the insurance operations strategy with a member-driven focus to ensure operational excellence, growth and profitability.
•Collaborate with the Executive Team to develop and execute company-wide initiatives and strategies that ensure financial targets are met and that sustainable growth is achieved.
•Provide operational strategic planning and oversight of the company's overall strategy to ensure alignment with business objectives and long-term goals.
•Mentor and support the professional development of staff, building high-performance teams that execute on Trillium’s strategic goals.
•Lead and manage the Claims, Risk Management, Underwriting, and Business Development teams to drive efficient and effective operations.
•Ensure the claims department processes claims efficiently and fairly, maintaining high standards of customer service.
•Oversee the development and execution of risk management strategies to mitigate potential losses and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
•Drive the underwriting process to ensure accurate risk appetite and assessment to safeguard the organization from undue risk.
•Foster strong relationships with members, partners, and stakeholders to support profitable business growth and development.
•Analyze operational data and metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
•Monitor industry trends and market conditions to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
•Maintain and enhance the value proposition as a differentiator providing the company with a key competitive advantage.
•Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
•Represent the company at industry conferences, meetings, and events to promote our brand and build professional networks.
•Uphold and promote the company's mutual values and commitment to community focus, ensuring that all operations align with our dedication to supporting and enriching the communities we serve.
Who You Are:
•Minimum of 15 years of operations and strategic experience in the P&C insurance industry with a proven track record of leadership experience in Claims, Risk Management, Underwriting, or Business Development.
•In-depth technical understanding of agriculture and commercial lines of insurance, including product offerings, market dynamics, treaty & facultative reinsurance and regulatory requirements.
•Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills. You hold yourself highly accountable for your work and that of your team and its impact on the company's ability to be successful. You think creatively and have the confidence to take new ideas forward.
•Ability to think long-term and develop strategies that support both immediate business goals and future growth, ensuring profitability and sustainability.
•Excellent and impactful communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to make persuasive presentations, effectively negotiate, and navigate conflict.
•You have exceptional people leadership and relationship-building skills with the proven ability to collaborate, provide strategic direction and guidance to a team.
