Claims Adjuster – Personal - Québec

Your role

Reporting to the Claims Manager, Quebec, the Claims Adjuster investigates, evaluates and settles Personal property and auto claims.

What you bring to the position

• Minimum 3 years of claims adjusting experience (Personal)
• AMF licenced for personal lines
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Excellent negotiation, analytical and investigative skills
• Strong time management, problem solving and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and manage changing priorities
• Bilingual (French/English) required

What you will do

• Collect and analyze claims information through investigation
• Evaluate coverages, exclusions and liability of various property and auto policies
• Maintain timely and accurate records throughout claim handling
• Maintain timely and accurate claim reserves
• Negotiate settlement (or denial)
• Examine more complex claims files as required
• Complete site visits / meetings with insureds as required
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with both claims vendors and clients
• Provide exceptional service
• Provide timely reports and file presentations to Claims Manager
• Work closely with Underwriting Department on risk assessment
• Work both independently and as part of the Claims team
