High-impact opportunity lives here. The Graduate Rotational Accelerated Development (G.R.A.D.) Program is simple. As an Associate, we will provide you with a high-impact accelerated program, rooted in getting know our business. The focus is on skill enhancement and access to leadership so you can accelerate your career growth at The Commonwell…and we will have a lot of fun along the way!

This two-year rotational program will have you working in Underwriting, Claims, Member Innovation and Optimization so you can experience the limitless possibilities of our business.

We will equip you with the technology needed to hit the ground running.

How You Will Create An Impact

Underwriting Rotation – 8 months:
Underwriting all transaction levels including, new business submissions, renewals, endorsements, inspection evaluations, large loss and claim risk alerts
Develop broker and agent partner relationships to support meeting or exceeding growth targets
Collaborate and support other business groups through a variety of efforts including, but not limited to; claims interpretation and application of coverage, attending broker partner events, project-based worked with member innovation and/or optimization

Claims Rotation – 8 months:
Answering in-coming calls and responding to members regarding their existing claim or, to start a new claim
Delivering superior member experience, communicating policy coverages and promoting Express Care programs and next step processes to reach positive claim resolution
Adherence to internal reserving practices and philosophies when estimating a budget for a claim

Member Innovation Rotation – 4 months:
Assist in building requirements and test scenarios for the insurance digital platform, Guidewire, enhancement releases
Assist in building acceptance testing for product and rate changes
Participate in risk evaluation and activity logs
Research coverage and policy details in Power BI for analysis

Optimization Rotation – 4 months:
Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures relating to Operations and IT functions
Assist with Project Charter development of new Ripple Effect Ideas (R.E.I.), proposed solutions, goals, key metrics and obtain sign-off
Data collection and analysis on Time and Motion studies, post implementation key performance indicators
Learn and apply Lean Six Sigma DMAIC methodology to business processes

What You Will Bring

· Completion of Post-Secondary education in a related field

· Presently completing or, willing to complete the Certified Insurance Professional (C.I.P.) designation

· Strong attention to detail

· Ability to adapt and embrace changing environments

· Effective communication skills: verbal, non-verbal and written

· Ability to develop trusting and effective working relationships with peers, employees and business partners

· Strong computer literacy, proficiency in Microsoft programs and internet navigation with the ability to quickly learn new programs
