AmTrust Financial Services, the largest privately owned insurance company in North America, is expanding its Canadian presence in the legal expense insurance market.  AmTrust has recruited the owners of STERLON Underwriting Managers (operating as legal expense loss adjusters for 30 years) to transfer their highly successful business model to a new team.

The successful applicant will become the principal adjuster responsible for the growth of the claims handling team with full autonomy in Canada, reporting to the head of global claims in the United States.

Working in partnership with a Business Development Director the goal is to become the largest provider of legal expense insurance in Canada.

Qualifications: 
Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years claims handling experience
  • Current Ontario Provincial General Adjuster’s licence required
  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office suites
  • Strong knowledge of insurance theory and practices 


Preferred: 

  • Extra provincial licences in other jurisdictions (British Columbia and Alberta)
  • Law degree or other legal qualifications
