The Senior Accident Claims Analyst is responsible for managing our more complex bodily injury, property damage, physical damage, general liability, and cargo claims. The position works independently. It oversees and negotiates claims involving third parties, who are represented, as well as litigated cases.

 

Your day-to-day

 

  • Independently manage minor to serious third-party bodily injury and property damage claims.
  • Manage litigated and more complex claims under the supervision of Claims leadership.
  • Update BI book on a monthly basis when claims meet the criteria.
  • Update Quarterly reports for auditors.
  • Set reserves within authority. Recommend reserves over authority and provide action plan to Claims leadership.
  • Negotiate and adjudicate claims within authority. Recommend reserves over authority and provide action plan to Claims leadership.
  • Coordinate investigations with independent adjusters, attorneys and experts.
  • Determine when post-accident drug and alcohol testing are needed, and facilitate process.
  • Notify company departments of accidents and/or injuries, as required.
  • Analyze claims for subrogation potential. Pursue where appropriate.
  • Provide guidance to Claims leadership on risk management related issues.
  • Travel for accident investigation, litigation, and industry seminars.
  • May be required to be on call after hours.

 

Your profile

 

  • 5+ years handling complex and bodily injury claims.
  • Must have solid understanding of tort and provincial laws as it relates to assigned claims.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret legal and medical documents.
  • Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills required.
  • Strong PC skills. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Teams, Outlook and Excel.
  • Must be reliable and work well with others.
  • Ability to travel for business.
