The Opportunity

The successful candidate will support the Guidewire Product Owner. The incumbent will act as a liaison between business subject matter experts, IT and the Guidewire Managed Service partner to transform business problems into technology solutions on the Guidewire Platform which will include the following.
1. Managing the Portfolio Management flight path and change management documents
2. Triaging and prioritization of defects, building business requirements for enhancement and project work streams.
3. End-to-end testing in each of the respective workstreams, which will include assisting in test design, execution and documenting results

Who You Are

Excellent communication skills and ability to bridge the gap between technical requirements and business requirements
Comfortable reviewing front-line defect submissions requests, this may include troubleshooting user errors and validating true defects
Review and publish release notes
Ability and comfort level researching business unit inquiries
Comfort with being in a multifaceted role that may not always be fully defined, and will mature with the development of our implementation framework and guiding principles
Supports the identification of any areas for improvement within existing procedures, methods and business processes

How You Will Create An Impact

Assist in scheduling, planning and monitoring the Guidewire release process
Create and maintain requirements, issue logs, meeting minutes, meeting schedules, project summaries and updates
Interact with other functional units such as Operations, Managed Services, Application Delivery and Infrastructure to clarify and obtain input for requirements
Ensuring the configured solution meets the business stakeholder’s primary objectives
Supports the Guidewire Policy Center Product Owner acting as a conduit between CMIG stakeholders and the implementation team (managed service partner)
Experience with Agile methodology in platform implementation
Intake of warranty and non-warranty defects to ensure timely triage and resolution

What You Will Bring

To qualify, candidates should have:
A diploma or bachelors’ degree in Business, Computer science, finance or a related field;
2-3 years’ experience in a related field, Knowledge of reinsurance is an asset
CIP or FCIP designation or working towards is preferred
Strong knowledge of Underwriting Operations and general knowledge of Claims Operations, specifically around process flows and design, insurance products and Guidewire user interface
This position is a stakeholder facing role that requires you to establish and manage expectations with the business and to support the involved teams to consistently achieve those expectations.
It is essential that the successful candidate possesses a desire to learn and understand the technical architecture of Guidewire and the peripheral systems and records.
Would be an asset to have the following previous project experiences:
Business Analyst or similar experience with focus on Guidewire Policy Center
Experience working with Guidewire recommended Agile methodology would be an asset
Would be an asset to have the following technology/ application experiences:
Guidewire products like Policy Center, Claims Center, Billing Center.
Guidewire Reporting architecture Datahub, Infocenter
Management platforms (JIRA, Servicenow, Confluence) o Knowledge of PowerBI
Would be an asset to have the following knowledge in the following areas:
Broker channels and distribution networks
P&C insurance products including both personal lines and specialty lines
