Commercial Lines Marketing Broker
While working closely with the Commercial Lines Team, the Commercial Marketing Broker will be primarily responsible for coordinating the placement of business with insurers on behalf of our producers/negotiate new business and renewal terms with the underwriters/insurance markets.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Work with established book of technical, commercial business
- Understand role as a brand ambassador and provide positive brand experiences to all customers
- Manage the renewal process by applying knowledge, solving problems, and communicating with the team
- Provide quality internal customer service to peers by maintaining relationships, managing expectations and professional communication that is friendly, timely and clear
- Prepare submissions, negotiate rating, terms, and conditions with insurers to secure placement of new & existing business
- Analyze coverage and premiums from various Insurers and recommend carrier placement in best interest of insured; make suggestions and/or recommendations for revisions and identify gaps in coverage
- Follow up with insurers on outstanding quotes.
- Review quotes for accuracy and send to Account Executives
- Technical understanding of various commercial insurance products and application to various client businesses and exposures
- Serve as the subject matter expert in all marketing related activities to other members of the team with respect to insurer appetites, insurer capabilities as well as recommending coverage considerations
- Build strong relationships with insurance companies and underwriters. Foster and maintain business relationships with industry partners
- Act as liaison between insurance market partners and account representative to facilitate placement of business
- Aid Commercial Lines team in troubleshooting issues with accounts and specialty insurance needs
- Actively participate in team meetings and mentor junior staff
- Prepare reports and coverage summaries as required
- Demonstrate high levels of accuracy and integrity

- Participate in training and professional development courses to enhance skills and industry knowledge as well as related insurance products
Qualifications
Team player with a strong work ethic
Superior problem solving and negotiating skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Comfortable dealing with Underwriters
Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines while multi-tasking
Minimum 3 years commercial insurance experience
Prior experience in a marketing role is considered an asset
Must hold a Level 2 General Insurance License
Proficient in Microsoft Office
CAIB or CIP Designation, or currently working towards
