Commercial Lines Marketing & Business Development Manager

Duties and Responsibilities:

Being part of the brokerage team, the following relate to the brokerage’s Commercial Insurance Marketing and Business Development:

  • Manage and complete the marketing of new business for all of Brokers Trust’s Account Executives,
  • Manage and review all new submissions and quotes for accuracy and completeness while maintaining efficient communication and workflows,
  • Manage and create proposals for Account Executives,
  • Liaise with the Commercial Lines Manager in the review of larger and more complex accounts,
  • Assist in maintaining and cultivating Brokers Trust commercial lines’ underwriter relationships with all markets and MGAs,
  • Assist in the continual implementation and maintenance of Applied EPIC and IT software and system changes or upgrades,
  • Assist in the maintenance of insurance company target reporting for the purpose of conducting team and brokerage performance analysis,
  • Provide the Commercial Lines Manager with regular activity reports, new business tracking reports and trend monitoring reports.
  • Assist in new product development,
  • Remarket renewal business, when required.

Qualities and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • RIBO license
  • CIP, CAIB designation (preferred)
  • an in-depth knowledge on insurance wordings, (required)
  • an in-depth knowledge of market trends, changes in appetite, and the ability to keep on top of market underwriting conditions and requirements, (required)
  • an in-depth knowledge of coverage requirements for specific industries such contractors, manufacturing, and technology, (required)
  • a proficiency with MS Office, (required)
  • an in-depth knowledge of commercial lines workflows and processes, (required)
  • excellent inter-personal skills, negotiation skills, and ability to work with personnel at all levels of the organization,
  • 5+ years experience in Commercial Lines marketing and/or advanced account management role, (preferred)
  • 10+ years experience in the insurance industry (preferred)
  • a familiarity with Applied Epic (preferred)
